TW Workshop

Such a cool collection from TW Workshop by British designer Tracy Wilkinson! What initially caught my attention from her collection were the ceramic vessels intricately woven with wicker. They have this wonderful rustic and clearly - handmade - look. But really, getting one of these is just another excuse for me to bring pretty plants into my house!! Love them all...

Layering a Room

I've found these photos from Elle Interior very helpful as I'm helping my step-sister style her new apartment. She has A LOT of stuff, so we've been very mindful when layering her objects without letting the space look too cluttered. I actually prefer spaces with a little more to look at (the good kind of clutter.) We do LIVE in our homes after all! So it's okay to have our purses out and artwork taped to the walls! But as you can see in the room below, keeping a simple overall color theme helps keep the room unified.

Sundown at the Oasis

This dreamy shoot from Rue makes me wish I had my own Oasis to escape to. The warm desert tones remind me that Summer is slipping away, which is quite apparent today in Los Angeles. As I'm looking outside my office window, rain is POURING down!

Charlotte Love's Pastel Shoot

I'm kind of in love with the styling work of Charlotte Love. Her palette is inspired by pastel & ice cream colors. Come to think of it, my palette is usually inspired by ice cream too ;)

The Boyscouts Lookbook

I adore Zelda Beauchampet's graphic brand for girls entitled "The Boyscouts." You see it brought to life in this wonderful Lookbook styled by photographer and art director Joost van Brug. I love the pink backdrop used in this shoot, something I don't recall ever seeing before. The colors pop out beautifully, and each piece is displayed likes its own little work of art.

Novogratz Invasion

Oh my gracious, I totally have a new favorite designer! Actually, it's a design duo, husband and wife Robert and Cortney, who are best known as the Novogratz. I saw them on HGTV a few nights ago and they blew me away. After looking at their portfolio I was floored. Their spaces are quirky- colorful - practical - fun - elegant - modern - vintage - all with a no-rules approach. My favorite part is the fact that their rooms don't look overly designed or matchy-matchy (which I've never been a fan of.) Rather, the spaces look effortless- while still making a statement about whoever lives there. Definitely my kind of designers. It's a wonder how they do it all while raising seven children!

Viva Terra for Spring

Spring feels ever present when the birds start crashing into my office window. I guess we have some kind of reflective glass on the building that causes them to start picking fights with their reflections. Hoooow sweet. You know what else makes it feel like Spring? When shops start releasing their Spring catalogs. They're always my favorite too- bright and colorful... something I really start to ache for on cold over-cast days like we've had the past few weeks here in LA. Alas, the sun is out and the birds are as nuts as ever. Love it. So I Just ordered a great catalog from Viva Terra that I'm pretty stoked about. Here's a sneak peak of what you'll find:

Little Byrd Vintage : Product Styling

Woke up this morning feeling a little better. Not perfect- but I can now speak without being mistaken for my Grandpa. So, I'm in good enough spirits to share something I'm really fond of- vintage stuff! Yay! Little Byrd Vintage is a lovely Etsy shop that has some of the best photo styling I've seen- showcasing beautiful little claimed pieces of vintage goodness. They take simple found objects and showcase their beauty with soft lighting and delicate arrangements. I'm an especially big fan of the pillow covers made of wool & fleece blankets- so good.
