Divided Rooms

Is it just me, or does it feel like the longer you live in a space, the smaller it seems to become? This is definitely the case for me. I thought I didn't need a dining room or office when I moved in, but recently had a change of heart when I came home to a bed covered in unsorted junk mail. Ugh! So I started researching room dividers. Drapes, palettes, dressers... there are so many inexpensive ways to utilize unused real estate in your space, simply by dividing a room up. Take a look at some great examples...

Layering a Room

I've found these photos from Elle Interior very helpful as I'm helping my step-sister style her new apartment. She has A LOT of stuff, so we've been very mindful when layering her objects without letting the space look too cluttered. I actually prefer spaces with a little more to look at (the good kind of clutter.) We do LIVE in our homes after all! So it's okay to have our purses out and artwork taped to the walls! But as you can see in the room below, keeping a simple overall color theme helps keep the room unified.

The Marion House Book - Home Tour

I love a good house tour... like this one from the beautiful blog The Marion House Book. It has all the elements that get me excited about a home- a little vintage, great pops of color and a ton of personality. Click on any of the images below to read interviews of home owners Sarah Keenleyside and Jesse Boyer. So many inspiring ideas!!

Ready for Swimsuit Season?

Nope, not me. But I do like these swimsuits from Black Milk- probably because a) they're ONE PIECE (it's flippin hard to find cute ones that don't look like something your grandma picked up at JC Penney)  b) they look awesooome. Who doesn't wanna be the bad girl on the beach sporting a skull-suit?! AND c) You can use them for the rest of the year as a t-shirt because they're just that cute... score! These fantastic little numbers are $85 each (not too bad for what bathing suits are going for these days!) The artist series is probably my favorite... Take a look!
