Staghorn Ferns: Vertical Garden

Flora Grubb's low-maintenance vertical gardens are still one of my all-time favorite finds on MDP (see last years post HERE.) I still peak back on their site occasionally to see what new things they've been working on. I just came across this display designed by their staff member Daniel Nolan. He used a plant called the Platycerium bifurcatum (staghorn fern) and when they grow they seem to resemble antlers. So when mounted on wooden boards they become really cool outdoor-friendly art pieces! Don't they look lovely displayed in a collection like this?

DIY: Hanging Outdoor Bed

Just give me a good book and a sangria- and I could call this wonderful hanging bed my new home for the Summer. Ohhh how this makes me wish I had a deck to build this on. One day! Found on the blog Life at Fire Lake Camp.

Fire Escape & Patio Gardens

Although some of us may live in concrete jungles or small spaces- doesn't mean we're not interested in growing our own healthy foods! I've always wanted to start my own garden, but never thought it possible living in my little LA apartment. That's why when I stumbled on Fire Escape Farms, I was thrilled! They have a myriad of gardening products for those of us who don't want to take our green thumbs for granted- even if we're working with some... space-impediment issues *ehem. Take a look at some of my favorite patio garden options i've collected from their site!
