Staghorn Ferns: Vertical Garden
Thursday, March 8, 2012 at 7:32PM Flora Grubb's low-maintenance vertical gardens are still one of my all-time favorite finds on MDP (see last years post HERE.) I still peak back on their site occasionally to see what new things they've been working on. I just came across this display designed by their staff member Daniel Nolan. He used a plant called the Platycerium bifurcatum (staghorn fern) and when they grow they seem to resemble antlers. So when mounted on wooden boards they become really cool outdoor-friendly art pieces! Don't they look lovely displayed in a collection like this?
