Tiny World Tins : DIY

Remember making shadow boxes when you were younger? Well there's no reason to stop now! Look at how magical these handmade tin worlds are. Wouldn't this be a wonderful little gift to give someone?

Here are instructions to make you very own from Lova @ Sweet Paul:

Find some old tins or boxes. Paint background with watercolors on watercolor paper. Try to build many layers to give your box dimension. Cut out illustrations from old books for the cities and features in your box. On the bottom of the golden one I used clay to build a hill. I used rice paper for clouds. Let your imagination go wild.

According to Panda

We've got a new Shop of the Month here at MDP! Okay, so this isn't technically one shop, but when I saw the work of Cátia Tomé, the artist behind According to Panda, I knew I had to share it! I love her cool geometric prints, especially when used as a textile. Her blog is also full of wonderful inspiration (and adorable pictures of her cat, which I'm a total sucker for...) Definitely worth checking out her Society6, Etsy and CARGO stores!

Kris Tate Illustrations

These vibrant prints by Kris Tate make me wish I was sitting by a pool, wearing neon shades, sipping on a piña colada... that may partly be due to the fact that I woke up feeling like it should be the weekend, NOT a Thursday (yesterday's July 4th mid-week day-off was such a tease!) Guess I'll just have to sit here in my office, staring at these flamingo prints, picturing myself by that pool... just to get me through these next two days! Oi.

Two Dot Two Studio

Illustrated calendars, "cat ladies" and coffee talk... It's as though designers João Bento Soares and Maria Helena Silva snooped around my mind for inspiration! Their design studio, Two Dot Two, has a fresh and quirky design aethetic with a diverse range of works- everything from furniture to film projects. You can browse around their Big Cartel to see their latest prints- including the beautiful 2012 calendar below that I'm pretty crazy about...

Jing Wei Illustration

Aside from the madness of the holidays, this blasted cold has kept me from my blog a few days too many...  Until the New Year comes, my posts may be a bit sparse. But I'm glad to say that it will be back in full swing very soon with some great new finds I can't wait to share with you! I'll do my very best to update when I'm feeling a better :) That said, I would love to share the work of the artist Jing Wei today. Her wood block prints are bright and playful... everything I wish I could be right now! Click to See More

Depeapa Does Beards

I don't know what it is I love more about the etsy shop Depeapa, her beautiful illustrations or the fact that she probably adores beards as much as I do...
