DIY: Wrapped Hair Comb

More days than not, I wear my hair pulled back. So when I find cute new ways to give my up-do a little more style, I get pretty excited. I discovered this easy and super cute DIY project on the blog Lemon Jitters. By taking a basic hair comb (found at most drug stores) and wrapping the base with yarn, string, twine or embroidery floss in a V-shape pattern, you can make this in a matter of minutes! I was thinking of how cute this could be with glittery gold string! I can see my stocking stuffer list starting to accumulate already! So many ways you can use this nifty little project. Love it.

Jen Awad : White Light, White Heat Collection

I am so thrilled about todays post here on MDP! I get to share with you Miss Jen Awad's fashion for the second time here on my blog (previous entry found HERE) who I am both a friend and huge fan of. Her latest collection of work, just released a few days ago, is called White Light, White Heat. I will warn you, these pieces are pretty easy to fall in love with... so you may want to lock your wallets up asap! I would also like to give credit to Lasonic Sivongxay for the incredibly beautiful photography, capturing the essence of the collection with the ever-so dreamy lighting... and the Dylan Keith Salon (a wonderful salon I'm a proud customer of) for the hair and make-up. Just lovely.

Hair Drawn Up

VIA Featured Etsy shop Nosideup. Aren't these so cool? I can only imagine what would happen if she attempted to draw my hair... (she does custom hair portraits too!)

Feather Head

SO excited to get a few of these in my hair for Coachella. You can find them on etsy or have them professionally put in by a stylist. The prices are very reasonable too (around $30 give or take.) They're washable, which is great because when I'm out in the dessert for three days- I  wouldn't want my feathers getting gnarly in the sweaty crowds. And, I'm not gonna lie, when I saw Steven Tyler on American Idol sporting a few in his locks, I giggled. But I still think they're way cool.
