DIY: Mason Solar Jars
Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at 3:03PM Happy Monday... Ah shoot, I mean Tuesday! Sheesh, a little holiday can really throw a girl's schedule off. But I'm so glad to be back! First order of business, I want to congratulate Hayley for winning the first More Design Please Give-Away of the Denim Quote Studio Bag! I sooo appreciate all the comments and support from you all during that give-away. Thank you, thank you! It's all of you that inspire me to keep finding great things to share! Which leads me into today's post...
Spending so much time outside this past weekend got me thinking of interesting ways to light up outdoor spaces. Solar lights are kind of the standard for illuminating the pathways across American lawns... and they're not always the prettiest thing to behold. But, with this DIY project found on the Free People blog, they can easily be turned into beautiful little custom Mason Jar Solar Lamps. Here's how it's done...
You can get these inexpensive solar garden lamps from any hardware store... glue the solar cell piece from the lamp to the inside of your jar’s lid and voila! It's that easy! These pictures show the jars with frosted glass- which can be accomplished by using a little spray paint... so easy, right? CLICK HERE for the full tutorial.
