Sculptural Florals & Bouquets

Wonderful News!! One of my closest friends is getting married and has asked me to be a bridesmaid and help with the wedding decor! I'm so thrilled and honored... Not only do I get to be apart of the most important day of her life, I also get to help PLAN A WEDDING! Eek! This has been a secret wish of mine for the longest time... I guess the strange thing is, I would rather plan someone else's wedding than my own. Most people can settle on the theme/colors. I, on the other hand, have trouble deciding on what color I want my hair, so how could I possibly pick colors for my own wedding?! I'm hoping this might bring some inspiration for any *ehem* future wedding planning I might have to do  :)

I've decided to start researching flowers and bouquets, so my first stop for inspiration is Bows & Arrows. Here you'll find some of the most beautiful and unique floral arrangements you can imagine. I really love the way long succulents are used in the bouquet from this photoshoot, giving it a strong yet organic shape. The centerpieces for this wedding are quite lovely as well... And perfect for a Fall wedding!

It's as simple walking into your backyard and finding inspiration! Aren't these so gorgeous? I wonder how long they'll keep for... might just have to store gifts in the fridge this year :)

DIY Bottle Centerpieces

Funny how something as simple as a bottle can inspire a post here on MDP. I'm especially fond of the yarn-wrapped beer bottles... so cute! I was thinking that a little orange and gray would look wonderful for Halloween! The link to that particular DIY will only take you to the image source- but I'm sure all you need is a glue gun, bottle and yarn. Looks easy enough ;)

Living LEIF - Cast Bottles

Witness a true transformation of trash to treasure right from the streets of Holland. The innovative design group LEIF has created these beautiful cast bottle vases literally right from out of the trash! This beautiful series serves as a wonderful example of how everyday objects can be turned into beautiful objects... The bold colors are what give these vessels a fresh breath of life- inspiring me to try something similar on found objects around my home- perhaps some kern jars or tin cans? The endless possibilities are pretty exciting! Hope you find some inspiration as well!

Allium Lovin'

On top of this newly acquired cold, the hot and overcast weather is making me feel less than 100% today. A little pick-me-up in the shape of a circular flower will undoubtedly help boost my spirits. So after work I plan on heading to the market to pick up some chicken soup along with and a much-needed bouquet of Alliums. They are my absolute favorite flower for many reasons: They always look beautiful whether using them sparsely around the home or in an elaborate arrangements- and they always as sense of cheer to a space. Maybe it's the shape or the bright colors- whatever it is- it makes me happy... something I really need today. I hope you enjoy these inspirational Alliums I've found for all of you :)
