Mae I Have Another?

Just love all the beautiful prints on from beloved online store Mae. The fabric wall decals are defintely my favorite thing on the site- but they have some great tutorials to check out on their blog as well (and we all know thats the real way to my heart!)

The prints are especially lovely when used for these great DIY wrapping and garlands!

Vinyl Mixer Decals

Something I'm always seeing at thrift stores and flea markets is wonderful vintage kitchen equipment. From crock pots and blenders to mixers and toasters, it's all there. With a little wash down and TLC they can work just as well as the new stuff in stores- sometimes even better if you get the right brands! I purchased a fantastic crock pot for $5 and use it about once a week. It's especially great for when I get my organic produce box. I just throw all my veggies in it, and voila, 5 hours later dinner is served! Why spend all the dough on brand new equipment when the old stuff can do the same thing (generally)? If your momma is the best cook you know, then you know her equipment must have been just fine. But if you want to spruce up the look of her old mixer I found these really cool decals from Wonderfully Wordy. Aren't they just brilliant?

The Silhouette Cutting Tool

My roommate just sent me a very interesting article by the New York Times called "Expanding the Creative Horizons of Your Printer". It's about the endless amounts of projects a person can use their printer for... Did you know your printer is a cutom textile manufaturer? A hardover book, decal, magnet and sticker maker? It's pretty amazing what kind of technology has been brought into the home with this little machine- probably sitting in a corner somewhere with dust on it. Well this article may just inspire you to bring it back to life! A new product that I recently stumbled on is called the Silhouette Digital Cutting Machine. It hooks up to your computer, just like a printer, and produces detailed cut-out images. It's perfect for those intricate time-consuming cut pieces. It's a new twist on an old machine. Imagine all the projects that can be made with this. Pretty amazing...
