Pardon my absence here on MDP... life has been a little crazy these past few days, and I'm thrilled to share why: In just a few weeks I'll be packing up my things and moving to one of my favorite neighborhoods in Los Angeles- Silver Lake! My future roomie and I already have our Pinterest board filled with wonderful decorating ideas. Our styles are a blend of eclectic and mid-century modern... girly and bright with a splash of sophistication. Take a look at our pinterest board, K&S HOME where you can get a sneak peak into what our future swanky pad will look like.

I don't know how/why it took so long for me to discover Scion wallpapers and fabrics... but I did. And it makes me happy. I'm digging their patterns- with everything from rustic and natural, to hip and illustrative. The bright color palettes are so refreshing! Especially that blue/orange combo. And if patterned wallpaper is a bit too overwhelming for your taste, one of their pillows could just as easily give you that pop of design you're looking for!
I can always tell when the holiday season is upon us, because it starts to turn into a MAD-house around my office! Although I might be buried up to my neck in work, I still wanted to take a moment to share a little teaser for my post tomorrow- A Mad Men inspired Thanksgiving! Seems appropriate, don't ya think?
It's incredible how the use of color can bring a real sense of joy to a home. Perfect example- this home photographed by Peter Carlsson. I just love the subtle hints of turquoise scattered across the bright palette of this charming space. Who could ever possibly be in a bad mood here? :) via House of Turquoise.
Feeling inspired by the work of Sinead Leonard today. I just love the use of strong pops of color, texture and layering in her digital collages. She calls these images "[An] army of female warriors... These women have the integrity and power to create and control the world married with the grace and compassion not to destroy it in the process." Love that. via Trendland
I'm kind of in love with the styling work of Charlotte Love. Her palette is inspired by pastel & ice cream colors. Come to think of it, my palette is usually inspired by ice cream too ;)
I'm so in love with these bright floor tiles by Stockholm design group Claesson Soivisto Rune. What a lovely way to add some flavor to your space! My favorite has to be the DANDELION floors in the green bathroom. They kind of remind me of plam leaves in a Frida Kahlo painting :)
Recently tumbled on this "We Are Young" design, which inspired me to create this color story. I'm really digging the neon color blocking this season!
