Christmas Breakfast Table
Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at 7:36PM This year Christmas festivities will be taking place in my home with all of my friends and family their to help me celebrate! We'll start off the morning with a big breakfast- which I've bravely volunteered to make. The menu is already in place- I'm making baked blueberry pecan french toast with eggs and bacon. Mmm. Now I'm starting to look around for some table dressing ideas. Here are some images I've gathered for a little inspiration...

Entertaining Advent Calendars
Monday, November 22, 2010 at 5:50PM The coutdown to Christmas will begin in a little over a week-giving us just enough time to get together our Advent Calendars... just to refresh your memory (because you're not five anymore,) Advent Calendars are those things our grandparents have hanging up in their houses that count down the days of Christmas. Typically the days are shown on little windows or bags that conceal treats for youngsters to uncover over the 24 days leading up to Christmas. My mother used to get them for me and my sister every year- they looked like oversized cardboard books with windows we would punch out- revealing a gnarly looking piece of chocolate that we would devour on the spot (didn't take much to make us happy!)... Nowadays, you can find beautifully crafted Advent's online at Pottery Barn & Etsy- or of course you can come up with your Calendar- which is always the funnest thing to do, right? Take a look at some of these Advents that will hopefully inspire you to start a new tradition in your home this Holiday season!

Gifts Boy Oh Boy!
Thursday, November 11, 2010 at 2:36PM I don't know about you, but I often dread shopping for boys! I think it has something to do with the fact that they seldom enjoy shopping for themselves! They buy what they need, and save for what they want- rarely treating themselves to something outside of the box... which is usually what gift-giving is all about! Now that the holidays are here, it's time to start thinking about what we can get for those lovely lads in our lives that they don't already own! (We're trying to think beyond the wristwatch and aftershave plan.) I've collected a few shops to share with you that have a unique selection of men's merch. There are also great product/gadget stores out there that you might want to peruse from time to time as they change on the daily: { NOTCOT, A+R Store, The Spoon Sisters, Design Spotter, SuperMarket and Poketo Art } just to name a few. And here are some awesome menswear shops that might get him to think twice about that same jacket he's been wearing since the 8th grade...
