Sculptural Florals & Bouquets

Wonderful News!! One of my closest friends is getting married and has asked me to be a bridesmaid and help with the wedding decor! I'm so thrilled and honored... Not only do I get to be apart of the most important day of her life, I also get to help PLAN A WEDDING! Eek! This has been a secret wish of mine for the longest time... I guess the strange thing is, I would rather plan someone else's wedding than my own. Most people can settle on the theme/colors. I, on the other hand, have trouble deciding on what color I want my hair, so how could I possibly pick colors for my own wedding?! I'm hoping this might bring some inspiration for any *ehem* future wedding planning I might have to do  :)

I've decided to start researching flowers and bouquets, so my first stop for inspiration is Bows & Arrows. Here you'll find some of the most beautiful and unique floral arrangements you can imagine. I really love the way long succulents are used in the bouquet from this photoshoot, giving it a strong yet organic shape. The centerpieces for this wedding are quite lovely as well... And perfect for a Fall wedding!

DIY Bottle Centerpieces

Funny how something as simple as a bottle can inspire a post here on MDP. I'm especially fond of the yarn-wrapped beer bottles... so cute! I was thinking that a little orange and gray would look wonderful for Halloween! The link to that particular DIY will only take you to the image source- but I'm sure all you need is a glue gun, bottle and yarn. Looks easy enough ;)

Last Minute Thanksgiving...

What!? Next week? Shoooot. It's okay. Calm down. The last thing you're thinking about for Thanksgiving is decorating! The hours you spend planning and cooking your meals leaves little time to deck out the your home with giant stuffed turkeys and cornucopias! However, there are easy ways to spruce up the Thanksgiving table by adding charming little elements that take little time, effort- and my favorite- moolah... See some of the inspiring ideas from the design teams over at good ol' Martha Stewart and Sweet Paul Magazine...

DIY : Paper Pumpkins

Need a little decorative flair or perhaps a table centerpiece this holiday season? Look no further!! This DIY project from Whipperberry is perfect! It's great for those of us who are trying to keep a budget.... as we all know, holiday spending can add up so its nice to not have to spend moolah on something that can be done at home! This paper pumpkin project is simple to do and can be customized to match your home decor according to what paper colors you use. I'm thinking of making little teal pumkins that would work nicely as transition decor for the winter/ Christmas season...
