Re-Branding The US Postal Service

I just love to look at re-branding projects. We did this a lot when I was in design school- choosing a pre-existing brand to spruce up with a new logo, style guide and application process. It's fascinating to see how much a business can take on an entirely different persona simply by changing the visual branding! An excellent example of this comes from a portfolio found on Behance. It's the work of designer Matt Chase of DC who decided to re-brand the USPS! The colors and graphics give the company an easy-going, friendly and hip aesthetic- without taking away from the fact that this company has been established for over 200 years!! Awesome job...

Letterhead : Love

Letterhead Love is a blog about...you guessed it- Letterheads! A letterhead is essentially glorified stationary specific to any given business. However, it's more imporant in that all documents from a business will be printed on this paper- making it a visual representation of this company and their asthetic. Contact information is also very important to have on these designs as this is a way for companies to reach out to others and bring in business. Having all this information and still making it visually appealing but not overpowering (remember- there will have to be text layed out on the page) makes this a very important asset to any company- thus making this a very imporant job for any designer. It's also one of my personal favorite forms of Graphic Design. Check out some of these great designs found on the Letterhead Love Blog that excel in representing their clients with letterhead design.
