Some of the best event decor inspiration can be found on wedding blogs like Style Me Pretty and The Sweetest Occasion. Let's face it, bride's put more effort into party planning than almost anyone else, so why not look at their resources to inspire our own events? MDP Rustic Halloween

Just a few Halloween/ Autumn decorating snapshots I wanted to share with you all. My camera is so terrible- but you get the idea :) I'm using earthy rustic colors this holiday season! I love them because they're great for transitioning into Thanksgiving as well.

Americana + Autumn = Preppy

Plaid, wool, collars and jeans- these are a few of my favorite things! Which explains why I'm so loving this Autumn collection by New England based designer, Kiel James Patrick. His goal is to re-introduce us all to that classic-styled preppy clothing from an older era that has been long forgotten. Check out the BLOG for more Autumn-style inspiration!

DIY: TWIG WREATH

Don't you just love seeing the streets lined with golden trees - announcing the arrival of Autumn? I'm already noticing leaves fall off the branches outside my office window. Although I'll miss all the pretty green, it reminds me of all I have to look forward to with the changing season. Sweaters and scarves, hot chocolate and holidays... so much to get excited over! Today's post is inspired by those Autumn trees and, of course, the the holidays. Since it's about time to start hanging up the wreathes, I thought this tutorial (found on the wonderful blog Painted Hive) would be a great way to start of the season. It's very easy to do, costs almost no money, and can probably last you until winter because it's such a simple looking piece. And it's easy to change up with the holidays too. Throw some webbing and spiders on it for Halloween, or a few pieces of holly in between the branches for Christmas. Gotta love that!

You may want to consider bookmarking this idea, guys! Fall is right around the corner and this is just about as perfect and simple of a recipe as it gets for the season... It comes from the Autumn issue of online-zine Styled. It's an apple pie inspired lattice top cookie- placed right on top of your mug of apple cider. Wouldn't this be so great for a holiday party!?

For Pleats Sake!

Can you believe it? September 23rd is the first day of Fall- just around the corner! We're starting to see new trends pop up that mark the change of season and one of my favorites is pleating. It's being incorporated into everything from clothing to home accessories. It's a classic garment folding technique that traditionally looks very polished and sophisticated- but is now being used in a more playful way with a slightly bohemian aesthetic. If you're really digging this look, the cool thing is you can probably snag one of these skirts at your local thrift store- because they were hugely popular between the 1940's all the way through the 70's!
