Paint Over Paintings
Monday, August 13, 2012 at 1:05PM The incredibly talented interior stylist, Jenny, of The Little Green Notebook, picked up a mid-century abstract oil painting at a flea market, and used her own personal touch to bring it to life. She realized that the painting's colors were a bit more muted than she intended for the vibrant space it was to placed in. So to make the piece work, she painted directly on top of it! It's such a simple and inexpensive way to give a dated piece of art a modern new life! And it's really hard to go wrong when it's an abstract! All of her interiors are a feast for the eyes, but it's little hand-crafted treasures like this that make them really come to life. Beautiful work Jenny!

I love this space! It's very similar to what my husband and I are trying to do in our newly wed loft! When scouring flea markets many of the pieces of art just aren't right... this is the perfect fix! Thank you for the inspiration!
