DIY Doily Lamp
Friday, March 4, 2011 at 2:47PM It's so Grandma- but so cute (and easy). This DIY Doily-Lace Lamp was inspired by the beautiful pendant lamp found at reMade USA... except this one costs you the price of a balloon, wallpaper glue & doilies... Instructions found at DOS FAMILY.

wow..amazing idea!!
I would like to make this with some clear glitter mixed into the 'glue" with the doilly. I think this would be nice for my Bathroom/bedroom. very romantic.
How beautiful! I am a Pueblo Personal Injury Lawyer, and I thoroughly enjoy my time away from the office. I am an avid crafter and the whole balloon-popping thing has always intrigued me. I'll have to give it a try :)
sooo this is definitly not as easy as it looks. My siter and i tried to make but ended up having to do a bunch of other steps to try and make it work. GReat idea though!
It's not personally my style but my Mother In Law would LOVE this! Super cute! I love frugal crafts. http://mummydeals.org/category/frugal-family-fun/
These are so lovely..from a different time.
I have some of my mom's doilies that she made long before she had Alzheimers. I am not the doily type. But this is a GREAT idea for using them! Thanks!
How do you get the baloon out after its dry? You probably pop it but how do you get the peices out after?
I got an instant pain when I saw this. It is a must have for me and I have beautiful old doilies to use. Thank you for the idea!!
This is absolutely incredible! I love it!!
Awesoooooooooooooooooooooooooommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...........................
need to learn more.........................
It is a lovely idea. I Love it.!
I made this the other day. I used a beach ball as it was much bigger than the balloon and I liked the shape much better. I also used a lot of wallpaper glue, but you have to get the consistency right. Not too thick and not too thin. I'm so happy with how it turned out!
Beautiful. I have a new craft idea, for when I move into my new house. Yes!
Very beautiful !! I love it !
These are beautiful! Unfortuately, I have tried twice now. Once with a balloon (the air was gone by morning) and the doilies collasped. Then I thought...what about a blow up beach ball...I can put more air in if it does the same thing. Worked a little better, but the doilies collasped as soon as I deflated the ball. It dried for over a week and had three coats of fabric stiffner applied. I pretty much gave up...with ruined doilies. Anyone have ideas????

WOW! Everyone is racing to the computer to see this right now. I so going to try this!
Wow these are beautiful. This is something that I have been wanting to try for a long time. I love that your daughter joined in on the fun
This is so gorgeous! What a great idea for a way to use some of my gramma's pretty doilies and hankies.
Do you use paper doilies or cotton doilies? It seems paper doilies would be lighter and hold up with the glue better. Any ideas?
