Framing Fido : Pet Portraits

The first time I ever made any money from art was when I was commissioned to paint a dog. A gentleman saw a painting of my little goldfish Linda on display in a college art show, found out how to get in touch with me, and asked if I could do something similar of his beloved pet terrier. I was thrilled that someone actually liked it enough to PAY me for it! Ever since, I've had this bizarre fondness of cheesy pet portraits. People really love them! And you can too, believe it or not. Artist Kate Pugsley has captured that sweet and silly nature of the pet portrait, but has found a way to make it... kind of cool!

I got a portrait of my cat MoMo painted by Yasmine Molavi on etsy. It turned out so great, I'm thinking of getting more portraits of him painted by other artists... then I could have a whole MoMo wall! Too crazy?

"MoMo wall" sounds like a classy high brow art exhibit. haha. That is too cute Amanda! Perhaps a little crazy- but I think it takes craziness to make something really cool.
