Ring Ring!
Monday, August 23, 2010 at 4:29PM What a quick weekend! I may have a packed it up a bit too much this time because I didn't sleep in AT ALL and had no time to take care of my errands. But it was still productive and fun, nonetheless! Friday night I spent the evening with my boyfriend shopping at IKEA for his new place and while there I realized that its great for staple pieces like shelves and storage, but when it comes to accessories- you should wait to find things that suite your own personailty. We all can kind of point out IKEA furnishings at this point- and nobody wants to look like they're living in an IKEA showroom! Thrift Stores are a much better place to find cool lamps and knick knacks. We then went to a great little restaurant on Fairfax called Mani's Bakery Cafe. Super healthy, delicious food with great vegan, vegetarian, low-fat, gluten-free options! There really is something for everyone there!
Saturday we got an early start taking a wonderful Lettpress Class in Carson. This week I'll try to give you a full-coverage story- because there sure is a lot to be told! Saturday night I rode my bike over to the Hollywood Forever Cemetery (you get in first if you ride your bike) and watched Willy Wonka under the stars alongside plenty of wine, candy and good company!
Sunday was my sister's 22nd birthday (wow, I can't believe it) and we went to the Moonlight Rollerway in Glendale and skated (or tried to) for a few hours. That was followed by dinner at Shakey's (we consider ourselves a really classy bunch...) The only thing I can tell you about this particular Shakey's location is that the claw-machine is totally rigged. I had a perfect record for winning until I encountered this beast... The claw doesn't grab anything. And you have about 5 seconds to decided where you want it to drop. Oh well, I had already won something earlier that day at the Roller Rink for my sister. AND THEN I went to my friend Cindy's house for a late night bite. It was her friend's birthday and we spent the evening eating cake and being merry- just as Marie Antoinette would have liked it.
Speaking of royalty... don't you love jewelry? (Like how I'm bringing this post back around?) I came across this lovely shop on Etsy and thought I should share it with you. Rings (and the occassional bracelet) are really the only kinds of jewelry I wear so I'm especially drawn to Violet Reaction. Not only do I love the rings- but I also love the price. The most expensive ring she has is $12... now that's working with my budget!
