Searching for the Perfect Specs

What a weekend! Saturday morning, I worked on my bike and added an awesome basket that I got from Amazon for $12... score! I've been thinking about painting my bike too- but it seems remarkably tedious, so that idea is still up in the air. I also celebrated my roommates 25th Birthday where we played Guitar Hero, ate lotsa pizza, and assembled legos for our ultimate robot-building competition. Unfortunately, my puppy robot did not win {insert sad face}. Saturday evening I watched Saturday Night Fever at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery accompanied by my boyfriend and a lovely candle-lit picnic. The disco party following the flick was probably the best part (aside from John Travolta's hair)- DJ Cut Chemist was there rockin out a classic 70's inspired set where I "boogied" out like my parents. Sunday I bought a BBQ that was on sale at Osh and discovered... I can't BBQ. As soon as I feel I've mastered it i'll try out some recipes from the Little Black Book of Barbeque. Can't wait to show you what I grill up!

So, now to my post. Aside from the awesomeness that was my weekend, it was all experienced through the eyes of a half-blind person- because I scratched my cornia and popped a blood vessel in either eye. Due to this unfortunate mishap, I had to whip out the ol' spectacles that, really,  I only wear right after my shower at night. I realized- I've had these glasses for 10 years and I really don't like them. AT ALL. And now I'm stuck wearing them for the week. Now it's time to confront the problem. So, I'm on the hunt for the perfect new specs. I may just end up looking for some old glasses at a thrift store and have the optomotrist swap the lenses out but there are also some great contendors if I don't core the perfect pair that way. Here are some shops that have some spectacular promise! *budum bum.

Kirk Originals- Love the bright, glittery colors and patterns.

L.A. Eyeworks- Retro-inspired wire frames.

Oliver Peoples- Classic, cool designs.
