Tavi Gevinson: 11 Year Old Design Prodigy

Perhaps I'm the only person who's never heard of this girl, but I'm excited to talk about Tavi Gevison here on More Design Please. Tavi started a fashion blog called Style Rookie when she was 11 years old and grabbed peoples attention immediately. She has an extremely unique perspective on fashion and design which I'm totally enamored with right now. She describes herself as a "tiny 13 year old dork that sits inside all day wearing awkward jackets and pretty hats." It's wonderful to see someone who creates solely for herself: without the restrictions of the fashion industry holding her back. She regularly peruses Thrift Stores for her ensembles and is known to buy shoes two sizes too big because of how small she is.
